Tim and Michelle Smith have enjoyed being passionate collectors of Illustration Art, original paintings, pastels and prints for several years. Starting with a few prints purchased from local antique stores and shows, our collection has grown to include original artwork by several artists, including Howard Pyle, Rolf Armstrong, Earl Moran, F. Earl Christy, Charles Chambers, Zoe Mozert, Adaleide Hiebel, Zula Kenyon, Jules Erbit, Guy Hoff, Pearl Frush, T.N. Thompson, Bradshaw Crandell, Hy Hintermeister, Walt Otto, and Maud Tousey Fangel.
Our print collection includes over a thousand prints from various illustrators including Fletcher Ransom, Harold Hewlett, Phillp Goodwin, Frank Vining Smith, Gene Pressler , Chester C.K. Van Nortwick, Francis Day, Frank Desch, Frederick Duncan, Atkinson Fox, and Charlotte Becker.
Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company
We have done extensive research on the Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company and the early manufacturing of calendars , which led us to author the book titled, "Joliet's Gerlach Barklow Calendar Company", by Arcadia Publishing Co.
We have done presentations on both the calendar company and it's artists at the Joliet Area Historical Museum in Joliet, Illinois and at the Illustration Art Conventions , sponsored by the R. Atkinson Fox Society . It is our hope that you enjoy these images created by these wonderful and talented artists as much as we do.
